关于2008 IEEE计算机网络, 系统结构和数据存储国际会议的通知

由重庆大学和华中科技大学协办, IEEE计算机协会赞助(待批)的第3届计算机网络,系统结构和数据存储国际会议 (2008 IEEE International Conference onNetworking, Architecture, and Storage) 将于2008年6月12-14日在重庆举行. 大会的主页是http://www-rohan.sdsu.edu/~taoxie/nas/在前两届成功举办的基础上, 此届会议的组织阵容更加强大. 9位国际知名的中外学者担任此次大会的顾问委员, 包括中国科学院的许志伟教授, 香港科技大学的倪明选教授(Fellow of the IEEE), 华中科技大学的谢长生教授, 美国Cincinnati大学的Dharma Agrawal教授 (Ohio州杰出教授,Fellow of the IEEE, Fellow of the ACM), 加州大学的Laxmi Bhuyan教授 (Fellow of the IEEE, Fellow of the ACM, Fellow of the AAAS, IEEE Transactions of Parallel & Distributed Systems Editor-in-Chief), 宾西法尼亚州立大学的Chita Das教授 (Fellow of the IEEE), Rice大学的Peter Varman教授(前NSF 项目组长), 罗德岛大学的杨庆教授(杰出教授), 内布拉斯加大学的江泓教授. 这9位学者全部是前两届会议的组织者或专题报告专家。大会主席由重庆大学前任校长,计算机学院的吴中福教授和美国Cincinnati大学的胡亦鸣教授, 会务主席由中国科学院的刘志勇教授和美国田那西科技大学的何绪斌教授共同担任. 本次大会将汇集在计算机网络,系统结构和数据存储领域的著名专家学者, 提供一个平台讨论在这3大计算机系统的密切相关领域国际最新研究成果和动向, 从而推动科研的发展. 讨论的具体方向涉及计算机网络,系统结构和数据存储的各个方面, 包括有线/无线/传感网络,体系结构,并行处理, 超大规模规模计算, 高可靠性体系, 高性能计算, 存储系统的可靠性,可用性及安全性, 面向对象的存储, 并行I/O等等. 本次大会的文章将由评审委员会严格评审, 高质量的论文将在大会上宣读, 收录在由IEEE计算机协会出版社发行的会议文集里, 并被EI 索引.除了吸引高质量的会议论文, 延续以往惯例,本次大会还邀请该领域的顶级知名专家学者作专题报告。目前已经确定的4位专题报告者包括: 1) David Hung-Chang Du教授, 美国明尼苏达大学计算机科学系教授和NSF (美国自然科学基金)项目主任, Fellow of the IEEE2) Trevor Mudge, 美国密西根大学电子工程与计算机系教授, Fellow of the IEEE.3) Yale Patt, 计算机体系结构的先驱,美国德克萨斯大学电子与计算机工程系教授, Fellow of both the IEEE and ACM.4) Jie Wu 教授, 美国Florida Atlantic 大学计算机科学与工程系杰出教授和NSF (美国自然科学基金)项目主任.2008 International Conference on Networking, Architecture, and StorageIn co-operation with IEEE, IEEE Computer Society, and the IEEE Technical Committee on Mass Storage; The conference proceedings will be published by IEEE CS Press to be indexed by EI.June 12-14, 2008Chongqing, ChinaThe last decade or so has seen rapid research and developments in computer technology, particularly the advent and proliferation of Internet and wireless networks, that has given way to a clear convergence of previously divert fields such as computer networking, architecture and storage. As a result, architectural designs are increasingly made more network-aware, if not network-centric; more classic architecture ideas are being adopted to network devices and protocols and vice versa; data grids and high-speed networks are making data ever more omnipresent and indeed the "life-blood" of computing and the main asset of any organization.This conference intends to bring together researchers and practitioners from academia and industry to discuss cutting edge research on networking (wireline and wireless), high-performance computer architecture, and parallel and distributed data storage technologies. By discussing ongoing research, the conference will expose participants to the most recent developments in these interdisciplinary areas.
